CCTV relies on strategic placement of cameras, and observation of the camera’s input on monitors somewhere. Because the cameras communicate with monitors and/or video recorders across private coaxial cable runs or wireless communication links, they gain the designation “closed-circuit” to indicate that access to their content is limited by design only to those able to see it.
Older CCTV systems used small, low-resolution black and white monitors with no interactive capabilities. Modern CCTV displays can be color, high-resolution displays and can include the ability to zoom in on an image or track something (or someone) among their features. Talk CCTV allows an overseer to speak to people within range of the camera’s associated speakers.
CCTV is commonly used for a variety of purposes, including:

Analog and Digital Cameras
Analog CCTV Camera
An Analog CCTV camera helps deliver a signal in a format that can be received by a monitor or video recorder over a coaxial cable rather than the modern day IP based cameras. Once received by the recorder, it is digitized and stored on hard drives or the web. Since there has been tremendous progress in its range and scope over the years, these traditional types of CCTV cameras are perfect for affordability and range of design.
Digital CCTV Camera
While the image capturing process is similar to analog CCTV, the post-processing is what differentiates digital CCTV cameras from an analog system. Within the camera itself, the processed image transforms into a digital file. Features like compression happen at this stage and is then passed to the video recorder and stored. These new age forms of CCTVs are ideal for super sharp resolution and better security due to its wireless capture, transmission and recording method.
